Christopher Khoo is an associate professor and former head of the Division of Information Studies at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He teaches courses in knowledge organization, data mining, social media analytics, and information behavior. He obtained his PhD at Syracuse University, his MSc in Library & Information Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a BA from Harvard University. He has also worked for several years as a librarian at the National University of Singapore Libraries. His main research interests are in text mining (information extraction, text summarization and sentiment analysis), knowledge organization, health informatics, information behavior on social media, and academic writing & thinking.
